1960's PowerPoint Presentations

PowerPoint Requirements for All Topics (additional requirements will be given per topic, see details below): Due Thursday, 12/08/11.

· Have a title slide
· At least 1 slides per event
· Slides at the end for sources (at least 5 sites or sources)
· Incorporate slide transitions
· Incorporate text animations
· Set the PowerPoint to a timer for transitions, but make sure the time is enough time to talk about each slide.
· Add clipart/pictures
· Add a sound clip onto your PowerPoint
· Do not use more than 3 fonts throughout your presentation
· Make sure your color scheme and presentation is aesthetically pleasing
· Information on the slides are not to be read, but used as a guide for your presentation.

1. Go to www.decadesclass2012.blogspot.com and post a comment explaining the assignments and requirements, what you have learned, and how this knowledge will benefit you throughout your life.
2. Export your PowerPoint to a PDF (using the OpenOffice Software installed on the Smartboard computer in the Technology classroom.
3. Upload the PDF to your comment on Blogger.


Events: (Rachel & Tyler) Provide 3 events per year from 60-69. Provide details about each event and make sure you understand the significance of the event, as your grade will be affected if you are unable to answer questions asked about the event.

Music: (Kayla) Provide the top 3 artists/musicians/bands of each year 60-69. Include a biography of the artist and the genre of music (country, blues, pop, rock, bluegrass, etc.) they played and their most popular songs. List the top 5 songs of each year.

Inventions: (Ashley & Tessa) List 3 inventions created per year 60-69 and answer the questions who, what, when, where, why, & how when describing the inventions.

Fads & Fashion: (Heavin & Alyssa) List the top 3 designers of each year 60-69 and provide a biography for each designer. Explain how they started, what brought success, and include images of their designs, be it clothing or cosmetics.

Cars: (Kaitlyn) List the 3 most popular cars: family, sport, and truck per year 60-69. Provide a biography of the manufacturing line of the vehicles and list the details (cost, engine, body, etc.), as well.

TV Shows & Movies: (Katelyn) List the top 3 TV Shows per year 60-69. Describe the show, actors, and how it compared/related to the events occurring or time in America during the year/decade. List and describe the top 3 movies of the years 60-69. Provide a biography of the Best Actor and Actress awarded for each of the years 60-69.

Sports: (TJ) Provide the history of Baseball, Basketball, Football, Hockey, and Soccer. List and provide a biography of the top 3 athletes per the years 60-69 for baseball, basketball, and football.

President Brochure

For this assignment, you will create a brochure about an assigned United States President . Your brochure should include, but is not limited to:


  • Image of the President

  • Background information

  • Campaign information (for both elections, if he ran twice)

  • Election results

  • 3 Notable events faced by the President while in office and how he dealt with these events

  • 3 Points of interest

  • Scandals

  • How he left office

  • What he did after office

  • Where is he now

The brochure should flow when reading and be aesthetically pleasing to look at.

Glogster Assignment

You will need to create a poster describing yourself using Glogster. The link is www.glogster.com. Your glog should include, but is not limited to, interests, goals, what you expect from the school year, and pictures.

Once your poster/glog is completed, post the link in the comments section and write a paragraph describing your thoughts on the assignment, the website, and how you could use Glogster for future assignments.
